I think I may be your complete opposite twin. Everything you say, I'm totally different. Except, we have the same hair. It's just so fun to read your blog! Keep up the good work! I would never have the patience to do this. :D

I don't think you're being over-emotional at all and I think I would react much like you have. It's tough for kids to have to switch gears like that - especially if they are really young. It might work out well that your youngest one only has the sub for a month... hopefully it will just be a little hiccup in the start of the year. I hope Mrs. H is a good sub for your kiddos! : )

Yay! You didn't give up : )
If you're scared of a short cut, the first hairstyle might be the easiest to get used to. I recently went from long hair to an Edie Falco-like cut and I love it. It's a razor-cut and very low maintenance, which is a real plus!

P.S. You have one of the most clever names for a blog ever!

Just out of curiosity, I checked the list... here's what I have read:

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Harry Potter (Series) by J.K. Rowling
Forever by Judy Blume
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Goosebumps (Series) by R.L. Stine
A Day No Pigs Would Die by Robert Newton Peck
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Beloved by Toni Morrison
The Pigman by Paul Zindel
A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume
Where's Waldo? by Martin Hanford

Ironically, I'm actually going to teach Lord of the Flies this year. Good to know that what I'm required to teach is on a Banned Books List...

Okay, PLEASE not Victoria Beckham's hairstyle... it looks "good" on her because the style is a bit whorish, and well, quite frankly, it suits her.

I like the 3rd hairstyle. It's not like you'd HAVE to make it that poofy. I don't think many people would have hair THAT poofy naturally anyway... there's some definite hairstylist work going on there.

And if you're not sure about bangs, I'd say go for it. Itty-bitty clips have become my best friend this summer to get bangs out of my face. They're quite simply really, and since they're so tiny and clear, you don't really notice them too much anyway.

I hope people celebrate their freedom to read-- not just for one week in September each year, but always. It's one of our most precious freedoms.

How to Celebrate Banned Books Week 2007 at http://blogs.ala.org/oif.php?title=celebrate2007bbw&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 provides a few ways to celebrate your freedom.

By the way, Where's Waldo? was challenged at the Public Libraries of Saginaw, Mich. (1989) because "on some of the pages there are dirty things." It was removed from the Springs Public School library in East Hampton, NY (1993) because there is a tiny drawing of a woman lying on the beach wearing a bikini bottom but no top. Source: Newletter on Intellectual Freedom, May 1989, p. 78; July 1993, p. 100

I'm with you on the long vs. short hair thing - I go back and forth with it. I've currently been growing mine back out (not my favorite stage) and so far have managed to not get so totally frustrated with it that I just chop it all off again. And now I have 3 additional heads of hair to deal with (now that my youngest is finally getting some!) and help them figure out whether they want long or short... Phew! :)

congrats on the 10 pounds loss, that is an awesome achievement! Especially when you've got the rugrats to look after during summer!!
I don't have kids, and it's winter here, but I still know it's a brilliant achievement. :)

Love your blog! I'm doing the WW thing too and attempting to avoid going off the deep and with two kids at home under 5. I'm also a total 'Lost' Junkie : ) Hope your summer has gone well and you are surviving with your sanity intact (although if it isn't, it could make for some interesting blog posts!) Hope you haven't given up and that there are more posts in your future.

P.S.

You are very commentable - It was a challenge to figure out how to do so though : ) For some reason, it is impossible to comment on your blog unless you first open a Wordpress account and log in. I found you at blogcatalog (micpro)
